Current Cliches to Avoid

Clichés are words and phrases that were clever the first time, maybe the second, but overuse labels a writer as a lazy hack.

Happy camper
Snail mail
In any way, shape, or form
The whole enchilada
Stay the course
Bring ‘em on
Been there, done that
Stay on message
The bottom line is
Keep your eye on the ball
Sort out
The smoking gun becomes a mushroom cloud
Weapons of Mass Destruction
Skyrocketing prices
With us or against us
A lot of BS
Kill or be killed
Head Honcho
The richest one percent
Average American
The little guy
Trophy wife
Toy boy
